There is also a Multi-Role theater which is marked coming soon, so there is a chance we are getting additional Rise of the Beasts themed bots down the road, and the two units will interact.Īside from all that, he’s also voice controlled. Mini-Theater is similar to actions, but longer more fleshed out sequences. I assume more will be added over time, but I can’t confirm that.

He ships with a selection, and then you can download additional ones. You can create ones yourself using the above mentioned interface, or just click buttons and have them play. These are pre-programmed sequences featuring sounds and music, depending on what you are playing. The Actions area is where I spent most of my time. Overall they seem to land more like heroic Optimus, G1 toon style, rather than murder-bot give-me-your-face Optimus from the movies. The lines feature a mix of G1 greatest hits and new ones related to ROTB. It always gives me chills hearing him and this time was no different. Those voice clips by the way – newly recorded lines from the GOAT himself Peter Cullen. In both cases, you can layer in sound effects, included G1 background music, and voice clips. You can then replay that pose later on from a list. The other Custom Programming option allows you to manually pose things out with your hands like you would pose an action figure, then “save” once you have it just right. This is a big selling point for some, as it allows you to get into the nitty gritty of robotics programming. When done you can save the resulting action and replay it later. Triggering one will have him move around accordingly along with some related sound effects.Ĭustom Programming allows you to create a step by step sequence of every single joint, using a GUI interface. He comes with his Ion Blaster, dual Energon Swords, and an Energon Axe.

Almost all actions he performs, and ones you can create from scratch, are meant to be done with him attached to the base, and even then, kind of in hover mode.Īfter connecting him to the app (see screenshots below), you have the ability to go into different main areas – Bluetooth Control, Custom Programming, Actions, and Mini Theater.īluetooth gives you a quick interface for controlling his arms with different weapons on. The setup and functionality is very similar to G1 Performance Bumblebee, however he’s not really designed to walk around and kick things etc.

This one however, has robotics built in and can move and talk. The sculpt and paint are meant to be screen accurate, giving you a large centerpiece the way Threezero, Prime 1 or Yolopark would. Overall he’s somewhere in-between a Threezero DLX and Premium scale offering. The base is about 13 inches deep and wide, shaped like a giant Autobot faction logo. The base however does allow you to keep him in hover mode, so it can go taller. This is a larger display piece, coming in at 16 inches & change for the base robot, about 18 and change with the base, standing on the ground. Paint, the app, and other aspects will also be refined before launch. One notable thing being the Rise of The Beasts logo on the base. Some things will change, improve, before final release. Bumblebee and now ROTB Prime return to Robosen’s general robotics roots, a robot that you can control, customize and interact with.Īlso to be clear, this is an early sample. That of course was a huge selling point, the auto-transformation.

I still haven’t cracked open the one that really kicked things off for them, which is the auto-transforming G1 Optimus Prime. So this is my second interaction with a Robosen product, the first being Bumblebee.
